Birding the West Side Creeks with Mark Menjívar
Join us at Martinez Creek: Fredricksburg Trail Head for Birding the West Side Creeks with Mark Menjívar on Sunday, May 4 and learn about local and migrating birds seen along the West Side Creeks.
Birding is about so much more than just birds. It is about looking, listening, and exploring. It is about imagination, color, texture, songs, movement and more! Artist Mark Menjívar will lead a bird walk to teach adults and children of all ages how to identify birds found in habitats surrounding the West Side Creeks Restoration Project. Lift-off at 9am.
Birding the West Side Creeks with Mark Menjívar is free and open to the public with free, limited parking provided Martinez Creek: Fredricksburg Trail Head. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable, close-toed shoes, and bring a reusable water bottle. Binoculars will be provided. Register to reserve your spot!
About Mark Menjívar
Mark Menjívar is a San Antonio based artist and Associate Professor in the School of Art and Design at Texas State University. His work explores diverse subjects through photography, archives, oral history and participatory project structures.
