Brenda Leal

Meet Brenda Leal,
the Administration & Communications
Assistant for
the San Antonio River Foundation.

Brenda Leal studied Business Administration with a focus in Marketing at UTSA, building a career at the intersection of administration, communications, and digital marketing. For the past seven years, she has founded and runs a specialty coffee shop, where her passion for connection and coffee helped cultivate a vibrant community centered on creativity, culture, and conversation. Being a small business owner has also taught her to wear many hats, balancing operations, communications, and community engagement in equal measure.

A certified Creative Writer in Spanish through the Escuela de Escritores de CDMX, Brenda has worked as a translator and hosted book clubs, bringing her love for storytelling, language, and literature into every project she touches. She was drawn to the San Antonio River Foundation because it is an organization committed to a mission bigger than ourselves, a place where meaningful work and great things happen—values that align deeply with her dedication to creative engagement and community connection.

In her free time, Brenda enjoys supporting small, independent businesses and bookshops, riding her bike, reading, and writing. Through her work at SARF, she combines her skills in administration, communications, and community-building to help further the organization’s mission of connecting people to the river and each other.

Your Generosity Has Changed Your World

Since 2003, our Foundation has privately raised and reinvested over $43 million dollars in enhancing your San Antonio River experience. Our project partners —the San Antonio River Authority, Bexar County, the City of San Antonio, and the US Army Corps of Engineers — have invested over $789 million in river improvements for our community. Together, our investments have added over $3.6 billion in economic impact through adjacent private investment and development.
