Art In the Open: Karla Kopalli, Nature/Nurture Performance
Join Karla Kopalli for the premier of Nature/Nurture, a multi-part public art project honoring the vital contributions of San Antonio’s women to their families, communities, and city. Through collective creation and performance, this project highlights the nourishing power of women as a force for thriving communities.
Celebrate International Women’s Day with a powerful performance at 2pm featuring Nature/Nurture, a collaborative public art project led by Karla Kopalli in collaboration with women of San Antonio from 2024 through today. This 20-minute event is a ritual of recognition and celebration, bringing together project participants and their guests to honor their contributions.
The performance incorporates 260 caracolas produced by project participants across San Antonio highlighting their collective significance as symbols of creativity, strength, and nurturing care. Together, the community will witness a moment of gratitude and connection, where art becomes a celebration of life and resilience.
