Lisa Cervantes

Lisa is a dedicated environmental advocate with a strong academic and professional foundation in sustainability.

Please join us in welcoming Lisa Cervantes to the San Antonio River Foundation team as our Recreation Coordinator.

She began her journey at San Antonio College, studying Environmental Science and leading “Students for Environmental Awareness,” where they expanded campus recycling initiatives. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration at UTSA, while interning with the City’s Office of Sustainability to support municipal sustainability efforts.

Professionally, Lisa worked with Compost Queens, where she helped divert food waste, create nutrient-rich compost, and managed outreach and marketing. She also has years of customer service experience from working in her family’s restaurant, bringing teamwork and community engagement to all she does.

An avid traveler and outdoor enthusiast, Lisa has explored countries like Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Spain, and Italy. Her favorite adventures, however, involve bikepacking—combining her love for cycling and camping. She completed her initial Master Naturalist certification in 2023 and remains an active volunteer with the Alamo Area Chapter. When not volunteering, you’ll often find her biking local trails with the Mujeres Cycling Club, gardening, or enjoying the outdoors.

Lisa’s passion, leadership, and commitment to environmental stewardship make her a valuable addition to the team. Welcome, Lisa!

Your Generosity Has Changed Your World

Since 2003, our Foundation has privately raised and reinvested over $43 million dollars in enhancing your San Antonio River experience. Our project partners —the San Antonio River Authority, Bexar County, the City of San Antonio, and the US Army Corps of Engineers — have invested over $789 million in river improvements for our community. Together, our investments have added over $3.6 billion in economic impact through adjacent private investment and development.
